THE BOOK OF COMMON GROUND
Imagine you are going to be stranded on a desert island, or going into jail, or exile, or poverty. You can take a bible and only one other book. Which book?
Or what if you wanted to disciple somebody, or start a bible group, or a home church, or a poor/ third-world church, but nobody had enough money, nor bible training? Which single book would you use, or leave there when you left them?
The BCG is designed to be that book.
The BGC is a core curriculum for systematically teaching and growing Christians. It contains many resources that have been treasured by Christians for millennia. The BCG is a prayer book, song book, service book, Sunday School book, and seminary textbook. Uniquely, it also provides a socially intimate method for learning every part. With a bible, it is a complete ‘Church-in-a-Book’. A carton of 10 is a ‘Church-in-a-Box’.
THE CONTENT:
(a) All of Scripture – The BCG guides people to personally engage with God about every chapter of the bible (Gen 1 – Rev 22).
(b) All of Biblical Theology – It teaches BT by showing how to understand every passage as part of the whole bible.
c) All of Systematic Theology – It teaches all the core doctrines of Scripture via the universal creeds and a modern language ST catechism in song.
d) Basic Christian Practices – It provides a basic service outline (along with most of the psalms set for singing, the world’s most loved hymns, and many New Testament prayers and benedictions) following the most timeless and universal Christian Practices for shared worship.

THE LOVELINESS OF THE CREEDS
Here’s what you’re in for:
- Music: We’re going to sing and study 12 lovely Apostles’ Creed songs.
- Art: We’re going to create 12 colorful, cartoony Nicene artworks as a wall mural.
- Sculpture/Theater: We’re going to act out the 46 layered, mirrored phrases of the Athanasian Creed as a sight-and-sound theatrical liturgical drama.
- Learning: By the time we’ve done 1-3 we will have accidentally learned fascinating chunks of Bible, Theology, and History.
- Worship: All of the above is worship, and by God’s grace it will inspire even more.
When we’re done, we will have feasted together from three creeds worth of lovelinesses. Better still, we will have drunk afresh from the lovelinesses of the one true creed-loving God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

This is an online metacognition development program. It teaches thinking skills
– the ability to evaluate with discipline;
– the ability to take multiple perspectives;

The Profit Premium Paradigm
In 2012, I got a strange burr in my saddle from my Year 12 Accounting class.
Conventional Accounting produces Balance Sheets that have little relation to a company’s actual value because they don’t take into account the value of Goodwill (anticipated future earning capacity), Intellectual Property, and anything to do with Staff (skills, knowledge, sales relationships, etc.). Conventional monthly accounts and reporting practices take the attention of managers away from Staff, yet all hopes of future success reside in Staff. Since ‘What gets measured gets managed,’ the books make sure that investing in humans is left to chance.
I wondered whether a novel accounting practice could be integrated into accounting systems to remedy this. I explored how Staff could become an Asset requiring Maintenance and Investment in a way that was objective, such that people working independently could come up with the same accounting numbers.
This paper is the result.
